CAPTURE THE FLAG

STORY

Years have gone by. Years filled with the pain of war. No one remembers how it started, all they know is they want to stop it. As of three days ago the end looked as though it would never come, but early this morning, the tides began turning. In the far southeast quadrant a large energy source was detected. This unidentified energy source (UES) was estimated to be moving southwest at a speed of roughly fifty mph, surprisingly slow. Immediately the CIA had images and identification of the object. From the information gathered, this UES is a large Russian DEB. DEBs or Dark Energy Bombs were believed to be a thing of science fiction until this morning. The DEB could, if detonated correctly, whip out every country without the proper defense shields. The government has taken action to start building the shield, but in the mean time the 42nd Covert Operations Task Force has been mobilized. The 42nd COTF is a battalion that specializes in what are called capture the flag missions. With NASA working on a shield and the 42nd COTF on their way to capture the DEB, all the U.S. can do is sit and wait.

CHARATERS

~ 42nd Covert Operations Task Force Trooper: member of the 42nd COTF
~ Covert Operations Coordinator (COC): member of the 42nd COTF (usually a Major) who is responsible for coordinating the attacks and etc.
~ 42nd COTF Leader: leader of the 42nd COTF (must be a Colonel)
~ Covert Special Tasks Trooper (CSTO): a normal Special Forces soldier (must be a Lieutenant)
~ Russian Soldiers: normal soldiers (can be any rank)
~ U.S. Politician: a congressman, representative, president, department head, etc.
~ Other Country Politicians: same as above only they are from different countries.
~ CIA Agent: normal CIA agent, in charge of collecting information on the DEB
~ U.S. General: responsible for directing the 42nd COTF

Jason looked out the side of the helicopter that was transporting them to the drop zone. The land benth them was tan and deserted. Once they landed there would be no one for hundreds of miles. No one except the enemy. He looked over at his other team members. They all sat, waiting.

Bambi sat quietly, head in hand as she waited to be dropped down. The time they spent in the helicopter, to her, was agony. The tention was very uncomfortable, even the sound of her drumming her fingers against the seat didn't do so good a job at breaking the silence. She bit down on her bottom lip, wondering if she was, in fact, ready for this.

Lucy sat next to Bambi and tried to look out the window, but she got a little queasy watching the ground fly past beneath her, so she watched Shadow. Shadow sat in a corner of the helicopter meditating. Jason had told her he did that before every mission.

Bambi finaly tried to break the silence, and turned her head toward Lucy.
"So, this is your first time, huh?" She asked, crossing her arms and leaning into the back of the seat.

Lucy nodded, "I'm what I guess everyone here calls a newbee." Jason turned his attention into the helicopter.

Bambi smirked.
"We've all been there," she said, holding out a hand.
"Not sure if we've officially met. I'm Bambi."

Lucy shook her hand, "I'm Lucy."

Shadow looked over at the two girls who were chatting away. He closed his eyes and went back to meditating.

Bambi nodded her head.
"Nice. So, are you aqquinted with everyone?" she asked, gesturing to the helicopter with a jab of her thumb.

Lucy nodded, "Yep, I've met everyone."

Bambi grinned.
"Great, so we don't have to go through those awkward introductions." she snickered, putting a hand over her mouth. She looked over at Jason, rolling at how he payed such attention to the helicopter.
"Duck, it's the same vehicle we got in. Nothing's changed." she mummbled under her breath.

Jason shushed her, he had an incoming transmition from the pilot. "Buckle up everyone. We're entering a hot zone!" There was a rumble and then a missle flew past the helicopter, missing it by a few inches.

Bambi tightened her belt, feeling her chest tigthen as well. She put a hand up to clutch the locket hanging by a thin silver chain around her neck, digging her other hand's nails into the seat.

Shadow reached over and grabbed the body armour and camo uniform he was required to wear and put it on, along with his combat gear. Lucy tightened her seatbelt and realized that all the combat equipment she was wearing felt heavy. Jason raidoed up to the pilot, asking when they would be at the drop zone.

Bambi gulped, pressing down the fear welling in her stomach, forming in a knot. She bit down harder on her bottom lip, stopping when it started to feel numb. Bambi looked out the window, wondering if they were going to fire again.

The helicopter banked as another missle went whizzing past the left side. Jason started passing back packs down to everyone, "Put this on!"

Bambi held back a yelp when she saw the missle whirl past them. She quickly strapped on the pack, knowing what they were going to have to do next.

Shadow silently prepared for the jump. Jason looked at the small group. "Ok everyone, on my signal, we jump!" He had to shout to be heard over the noise. "One! Two! Three! GO!" Shadow jumped out without hesitation and Jason followed.

Bambi untangled herself from the seat belt and nodded to Lucy. She took a step forward and jumped out, her heart threatening to burst from her chest.
I should be used to this by now. I shouldn't be so worried, Bambi thought, as the ground came nearer and nearer.

Lucy gulped and then jumped. She focused her attention on the parachutes below her. She knew her wouldn't deploy until she was at three hundred feet.

Shadow touched the ground first and imediatly untangled himself from the parachute. Then he took cover next to a dead bush. After everyone touched down, their supplies would drop.

Bambi swallowed down her fear as she landed on the ground, instantly getting off the parachutes and taking cover behind a rock.
She put a hand over her chest, waiting.

Jason and Lucy touched down moments later. They both took cover under a rock. Shadow was the fiest to hear it. Swift whinning sound. Seconds later the first of the suplies hit the ground. They were wrapped in protective cones.

Bambi looked at the pack intently, her heart hammering in her chest. She looked out, watching the sky. She knew that they might spot any sudden movements.

As soon as the fourth cone hit the ground, shadow crawled from the shelter of his bush and began unpacking the supplies.
