Lucy sighed and continued moving rocks, wondering why anyone would trap them inside a cave.

Bambi tugged on a rock, grunting with effort.
"Dang...immobile...piece of trash..." she grumbled.

Finally they had dug a hole large enough to crawl through. Shadow went first, closely followed by Jason and Lucy.

Bambi crawled in behind Lucy rubbing the dirt off from under her eye, hating to have to lie down flat against the dirt and wiggle.

Jason frowned, "We've lost a lot of time so we'll have to go faster than we originally planed."

Bambi massaged her shoulder, mummbling incoherently to herself.
"Fine, then let's go." she said, wiping herself off.

Shadow ran off ahead as was his custom. The desert was hot and there was no place to seek shelter from the boiling sun. Lucy started to feel so she took a sip from her canteen, but it didn't really help.

Bambi kept at a steady jog, fanning herself as the sun beat down. She looked at the desert and started noticing that her vision was turning blurrier, it was hard to make out the shapes of her comrads and the occasional tumbleweed. She stopped, rubbing her temples.

Jason looked over his shoulder and noticed that Lucy and Bambi had fallen back a little bit. He stopped and said over the radio, "You guys ok?"

"My vision's gone blurry, and I can't think straight." Bambi replied, trying to keep her voice steady.
"I'm sure it's just the heat. Go on, I'm fine."

Jason looked over his shoulder at Shadow and motioned for him to keep watch. "No we should take a break. The middle of the desert is no where to pass out." Lucy caught up and took a sip of her water, it was warm from the sun, but it was wet.

She silently thanked whatever man, bird, or fish that was watching over her. Bambi brought out her canteen, taking a small swig, her parched throat welcoming the refreshing liquid. She took another drink and put it back into her bag, looking out at the horizion. It was still a bit blurry, but she could at least make out the shapes flickering across it. Bambi took in a deep breath, shading her cerulan eyes from the sun.
"I feel better. Ready to go when you are." she said, nodding to Lucy, Jason, and Shadow.

Jason nodded and motioned to Shadow to continue forward. Jason said, "We'll stop for lunch in a few hours." He turned and jogged after Shadow. Lucy sighed, "This is more work then I bargined for, but it beats sitting at a desk." She ran after Jason.

Bambi inhaled and jogged after them, keeping her eyes away from the sun and occasionally fanning herself.

About an hour later Jason stopped and found shade, "We'll eat here." Shadow came and passed out the food. It wasn't five star resturant food, but id was still food.

Bambi crouched down, sitting cross legged under the shade and running her fingers through her bangs.
"Thanks, Shadow." she said with a nod, licking her lips hungrily and taking out her canteen.

Jason pulled from his bag a map and marker. He spread out the map and took a bite of his sandwich. Looking it over carefully he drew an X on a blue line.

Bambi clicked her tongue and took a bite of her sandwhich. She swallowed, peering over Jason's shoulder.
"Is that where we're headed?" she asked, pointing a finger at the 'X'.

Jason shook his head, "No, we're going here," he pointed to a place on a map that was about six inches from the X. "This X marks the spot where the DEB is currently located."

Bambi's eyes widened. Normally she would've grummbled about it being to far away, but she was to shocked that he had said 'DEB'.
"The dark energy bomb?" she asked, her voice a little shaky. She knew it was coming, but that didn't mean she wasn't nervous.

Jason laughed, "It's not that scary. You only have to be worried after it reaches where we're going. It can't do anything unless it's in this special detonation center. Right now it is the equivelant of a really big bowling ball."

Bambi frowned.
"Jason, how could you look at me, laugh, and say it's not that scary?!" she questioned, flailing her arms in the air for emphasis. She hugged her legs to her chest and set her chin on her knees.
"Got any plan to get past it?" she asked.

Jason smiled, "Do you watch any football?"

Bambi nodded and raised an eyebrow.
"'Used to watch it with my dad every Sunday." she confirmed in a skeptical tone.
"Where are you getting at?"

"Well we're going to do something that is a lot like an interception in football. It has a big long name that no one knows. But essentially we create a distraction and then steal the DEB while their not looking."
